EDITORIAL

I HAVE GAMBLED FAR MORE THAN ENOUGH

         I have gambled far more than enough
         I want to confess
         in front of the people
         and my family, too.

         I have gambled everything
         and I lost everything.
         I promised my wife
         to be faithful until death.

         One night,
         I well recall,
         gambling at the casino
         Luck came and told me:

         If you could disembarrass yourself
         of so much commitment
         and love me madly
         I will give you luck.

         And to encourage me
         she told me "bet on the nine"
         and I didn't believe her
         and the nine suddenly won.

         I wanted to love her
         love her until death
         but I said with anger:
         I am faithful to my wife.

         Luck, abandoned
         by my moral prejudices,
         kissed my forehead and said:
         You will be a loser.

         If you could disembarrass yourself
        of so much commitment
         and love me madly
         I will give you luck.
